The 5A-axis closed-loop cryogenic sample holder provided by Fermion Instruments can achieve precise control of sample position and posture. It is mainly composed of four parts: cryogenic sample rod, temperature control system, XYZ-R1 translation stage, and motor control system. The entire sample holder and translation stage are made of non-magnetic materials and can be used under ultra-high vacuum. The sample stage can move over a large range in the X, Y, and Z directions, and can achieve rotational movement around the Z axis (R1). A gear transmission mechanism is added to the head of the sample holder to achieve the function of internal angle rotation of the sample table (R3). The motor control software can be linked with the ScientaOmicron analyzer to achieve the automapping function.
